E911 Emergency Service Limitations

NetEx Technologies Ltd, an internet-based telephone service, offers several advantages over traditional phone services. However, it’s important to understand certain limitations, particularly if you rely on NetEx Technologies as your primary phone service:

  1. Placing 9-1-1 Calls: When dialing 9-1-1, NetEx’s E911 service aims to route your call to the appropriate Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) based on your registered address. However, due to the service’s flexibility, your call might be directed to a specialized call center instead of the local PSAP, potentially requiring you to provide your name, address, and phone number.
  2. Providing Your Information: NetEx’s E911 service attempts to automatically provide your account details to the dispatcher. However, technical issues may prevent this, which may require you to verbally communicate your location during an emergency call.
  3. Accuracy of Information: It’s your responsibility to maintain accurate contact information in your account. Failure to do so may result in misdirected emergency calls.
  4. Disconnection: Do not disconnect a 9-1-1 call unless instructed by the dispatcher, as they might not have your contact or location information. If disconnected accidentally, call back immediately.
  5. Connection Time: Technical factors, such as network congestion, may cause delays or busy signals during 9-1-1 calls.
  6. Service Interruptions: NetEx’s E911 services may be affected by technical issues, power outages, or service suspensions, potentially hindering emergency calls.
  7. 9-1-1 Call Charges: There is no fee for valid emergency calls made through NetEx’s properly provisioned E911 service. However, charges may apply for non-emergency or unauthorized calls.
  8. User Notification: You are responsible for informing all users of NetEx’s E911 limitations and procedures.
  9. Liability Limitations: NetEx’s terms of service limit liability regarding its E911 service. It’s crucial to understand these terms and consider alternative 9-1-1 options if necessary.

By providing this information, we ensure that you are aware of these limitations and can prepare accordingly for any emergency situations at your location.
